Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Components Engineer to source, qualify, and manage electronic components used in our technology. You will work with electrical engineers, suppliers, and electronics manufacturing to maintain AV's product and drive cost reduction, quality and reliability through new and alternate sources.

The role requires maintaining a component lifecycle database, supporting design engineers, participating in design reviews, and establishing specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in electronics.
• Experience with component suppliers and Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

• Source, qualify, and manage electronic components for AV products.
• Maintain component lifecycle database and obsolete parts.
• Assist design engineers in selecting electrical parts.
• Participate in design reviews for component selection and standardization.
• Establish and maintain specifications for off-the-shelf parts.
• Generate component specifications and test procedures.
• Coordinate failure analysis and corrective actions on components.
• Evaluate supplier changes and qualify changes as needed.
• Lead design reviews and walk-throughs; mentor others.
