Job summary

Matrix Design Group LLC in Newburgh, IN seeks a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to design and develop hardware components and systems. You will work with engineers and cross-functional teams to drive hardware projects from concept to production.

The role requires a strong foundation in electronics, ownership of designs, and a proactive approach to risk reduction. On-site collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and field teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in electronic hardware design and development from concept to production.
• Expert-level proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred) and disciplined schematic/layout release practices.
• Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design with manufacturability in mind.

Responsibilities

• Lead and define hardware requirements from customer, regulatory, and internal stakeholders.
• Own development of hardware specifications and interfaces for subsystems with architecture decisions.
• Plan and execute proof-of-concept builds and risk reduction activities.
• Design and own complex schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer; review layouts by others as needed.
• Define verification plans; prototype, debug, and validate circuits per specs and safety requirements.
• Coordinate cross-functional design reviews and drive closure of actions to ensure quality.
