Job summary

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative hardware products, seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design and develop hardware components and systems at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This role collaborates with other engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful hardware project execution.

The position reports to the Manager of Hardware Systems and requires a proactive, detail‑oriented engineer with a strong electronics background and a passion for hardware

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Experience in electronic hardware design preferred.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit operation.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements from product concepts.
• Develop and maintain hardware specifications.
• Build, instrument, and test proof-of-concept hardware.
• Design schematics and PCB layouts (Altium preferred).
• Prototype and troubleshoot circuits using lab equipment.
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback.
• Create test fixtures and procedures for verification.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings and documentation.
• Provide technical support to field teams.
• Maintain engineering documentation and reports.
• Assist with field/environment testing as needed.
• Support component obsolescence assessment and substitute parts.
