Job summary

Kforce Inc. is hiring on behalf of a client in the Northwest Phoenix, AZ area for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer.

This 100% onsite role focuses on high-performance hardware, embedded firmware, and cross-functional collaboration to bring next-generation connected products to market. The role requires 10-15+ years in hardware design, strong analog/digital skills, and expertise with PCB design tools like Altium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10-15+ years of electronic hardware design experience.
• Experience with low-power embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Battery-powered products and power supply design experience.
• Embedded C or firmware development (bare-metal preferred).
• Strong analog and digital design background.
• PCB design using Altium or similar CAD tools.
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Wi-Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, NFC, UWB.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain electronic hardware.
• Lead analog and digital circuit design from concept to production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for reliable, high-quality products.
• Create schematics, test plans, and validation procedures.

Kforce's client, a growing Engineering Technology company in the Northwest Phoenix, AZ area, is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer. We are working directly with the hiring manager on this search assignment. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, aggressive annual bonus, 401K matching, etc. This position is 100% onsite. Summary: We are working directly with the hiring manager to identify a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join an innovative R&D team developing next-generation connected products. This hands‑on role will focus on the design, development, testing, and support of advanced electronic hardware systems, working closely with mechanical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.

• Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain electronic hardware for new and existing products
• Lead analog and digital circuit design efforts from concept through production
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop reliable, high-quality products with an emphasis on simplicity and time-to-market
• Create design documentation, schematics, test plans, and validation procedures
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and system‑level issues
• Support product deployment, manufacturing activities, and customer technical needs
• Contribute to embedded firmware and low‑power system design
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support ISO 9001:2015 quality standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 10-15+ years of electronic hardware design and development experience
• Experience with low‑power embedded systems and microcontrollers such as Cortex, MSP430, PIC, or similar
• Experience with battery‑powered products, power supply design, and manufacturing processes
• Embedded C and/or Firmware development (bare‑metal programming experience) is preferred
• Strong background in analog circuit design (highly preferred) and digital electronics
• Expertise in PCB design using Altium or similar CAD tools
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, electromagnetic engineering design principles and the physics behind them
• Knowledge of communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Wi‑Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, NFC, and UWB
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem‑solving skills

Nice To Have

• Experience in an ISO 9001:2015 environment
• Technical leadership experience
• RF circuit design and FCC/IC certification experience
• Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and hardware security technologies
• Exposure to Machine Learning applications
