Job summary

Kforce's client, a growing Engineering Technology company in the Northwest Phoenix, AZ area, seeks a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join an innovative R&D team creating next-generation connected wireless products.

The role focuses on architecture, design, testing, and support of advanced electronic hardware, collaborating with mechanical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in electronic hardware design and development.
• Experience with low-power embedded systems and MCUs.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design background.
• PCB design using Altium or similar CAD tools.
• Knowledge of communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Wi‑Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, NFC, UWB.
• Embedded C/firmware development preferred
• Experience with electro-mechanical product design is a plus
• ISO 9001:2015 environment experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain electronic hardware for new and existing products
• Lead analog and digital circuit design efforts from concept through production
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop reliable, high-quality products with emphasis on time-to-market
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and system-level issues
• Support product deployment, manufacturing activities, and customer technical needs
• Contribute to embedded firmware and low-power system design
• Participate in ISO 9001:2015 quality initiatives
• Create design documentation, schematics, test plans, and validation procedures

We are working directly with the hiring manager on this search assignment. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, aggressive annual bonus, 401K matching, etc. Summary: We are working directly with the hiring manager to identify a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join an innovative R&D team developing next-generation connected wireless products. This hands-on role will focus on the design, development, testing, and support of advanced electronic hardware systems, working closely with mechanical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.

• Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain electronic hardware for new and existing products
• Lead analog and digital circuit design efforts from concept through production
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop reliable, high-quality products with an emphasis on simplicity and time-to-market
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and system-level issues
• Support product deployment, manufacturing activities, and customer technical needs
• Contribute to embedded firmware and low-power system design
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
• Create design documentation, schematics, test plans, and validation procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
• Prefers 8-12+ years of electronic hardware design and development experience
• Experience with low-power embedded systems and microcontrollers such as Cortex, MSP430, PIC, or similar would be ideal
• Strong background in analog circuit design (highly preferred) and digital electronic design
• Expertise in PCB design using Altium or similar CAD tools
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, electromagnetic engineering design principles and the physics behind them
• Knowledge of communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Wi‑Fi, RFID, TCP/IP, NFC, and UWB
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with battery‑powered products, power supply design, and manufacturing processes would be a plus
• Embedded C and/or Firmware development (bare‑metal programming experience) is preferred
• Experience with the design of electro‑mechanical products is preferred

Nice To Have

• Experience in an ISO 9001:2015 environment
• Technical leadership experience
• Experience with IoT and/or Wireless BLE products
• RF circuit design and FCC/IC certification experience
• Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and hardware security technologies
• Exposure to Machine Learning applications
