Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a skilled assembler for electronic and mechanical components in a production environment on Fort Walton Beach, FL. The role involves following detailed work instructions, reading schematics, and performing complex tasks such as potting, wiring, and coating to meet precise specifications.

You'll work with hand and power tools, mount components on boards or chassis, and collaborate with engineers to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in assembly.
Successful IPC Solder Training and certification within initial 2–6 weeks with 1% or less defect rate.
Mechanical Assembly certification and rework certification.
Surface Mount Hand Installation certification.
Experience with cable continuity testing and complex wiring of harnesses.
Experience developing work instructions and process problem identification.

Responsibilities

Position and align parts and secure with hand or power tools.
Mount assembled components on chassis, panels, or circuit boards.
Route wiring and cabling through assembly to terminals according to color codes and solder or wrap wire.
Perform intermediate to complex assembly tasks (potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping).
Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
Read schematics and determine materials and assembly instructions.
Develop accurate and intelligible work instructions.
Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities and resolve production problems using ECN.
