Job summary

CHEManager International is seeking a Core Research Facility Technician III for the Main Campus in Gainesville, FL. The role involves preparing specimens for TEM/SEM, training investigators, and maintaining lab records and scheduling.

Responsibilities include ultramicrotomy, cryo-EM sample prep, and supervising the lab in the absence of the Lab Manager. A BA/BS in a related field is required, with CEMT preferred or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Core or technology-specific licensure and/or certifications where applicable; annual training.
• Preference for CEMT certification or equivalent EM lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for electron microscopy including tissue and microbes.
• Train investigators in TEM/SEM operation and related equipment.
• Maintain records, scheduling, and billing in ILab system.
• Perform ultramicrotomy and knife maintenance.
• Execute advanced techniques such as immunoelectron microscopy and cryo-EM data prep.
• Open/Close and supervise lab in absence of Lab Manager/Director.
• Collaborate with investigators to adapt techniques and interpret results.
• Maintain general microscope and equipment function.
