Job summary

pro-beam USA is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and optimize advanced electron beam welding systems across North America. You will serve as the primary technical resource for complex customer issues and collaborate with engineering teams in Germany to push manufacturing limits.

We value engineers who excel at systematic troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in field service, installation, startup, commissioning, or technical support of industrial capital equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and motion-control systems.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills; able to travel 30–50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support installation, startup, commissioning, and acceptance testing of highly customized electron beam systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, vacuum, motion control, high-voltage, and electromechanical issues on-site or remotely.
• Perform systematic root-cause troubleshooting.
• Serve as technical escalation point for challenging customer issues.
• Deliver technical training for customer maintenance and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams in Germany on investigations.
• Travel throughout North America to support installations and production systems.
• Build trusted relationships with customers, representing pro-beam's technical excellence.
