Are you an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems at the intersection of electronics, embedded software, and connected hardware?
Our client is developing intelligent products designed to operate in demanding real-world environments and is seeking a Senior Electromechanical Systems Engineer to play a key role in product architecture, development, and commercialization.
This is a highly visible technical leadership opportunity for an engineer who enjoys owning products from concept through production while working across electrical engineering, embedded firmware, connectivity, manufacturing, and product validation.
If you enjoy the ownership of building products and maintaining them, this role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on future product platforms and technology strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the development of embedded electronic products and connected hardware systems.
- Define system architecture including electronics, embedded firmware, sensors, communications, and system interfaces.
- Participate in circuit design, component selection, hardware integration, and product validation activities.
- Develop, review, and troubleshoot embedded firmware using C and/or C++.
- Support hardware-software integration and resolve system-level issues involving electronics, firmware, and communications.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external development partners throughout the product lifecycle.
- Guide products through concept development, prototyping, testing, manufacturing launch, and sustaining engineering.
- Develop technical specifications, validation plans, and engineering documentation.
- Support design verification, environmental testing, and product reliability initiatives.
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure successful production implementation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience developing embedded electronic products or electromechanical systems.
- Strong background in electrical engineering and electronic system design.
- Experience developing or supporting embedded firmware using C or C++.
- Experience debugging hardware, firmware, and communication interfaces.
- Experience developing IoT products, connected devices, industrial electronics, smart products, or embedded systems.
- Experience with wireless communications, sensors, controls, and edge devices is highly desirable.
- Experience developing products intended for harsh or demanding environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with environmental testing including vibration, thermal cycling, ingress protection, or shock testing is highly desirable.
