Job summary

Boston Dynamics Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant – Electromechanical Engineering to work with customers and internal teams, delivering engineered solutions that enable automation and data needs using our robotics platforms.

You will develop in-depth knowledge of our robotics and software solutions and translate requirements into electromechanical and software designs for complex payloads and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in robotics or physical systems software engineering or embedded systems development.
• Experience in cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
• Experience in rapid prototyping environments.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams to develop and deliver custom electromechanical solutions integrated with core robot and fleet management products.
• Act as an external-facing technical representative translating customer insights into actionable technical solutions.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to design payloads or mechanical systems for autonomous platforms.
• Drive resolution of complex, high-risk technical challenges across perception, controls, safety, compute, and hardware/software integration.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and technical documentation of findings and deliverables.
• Facilitate technical requirements and sprint planning sessions.
• Move quickly but thoughtfully to adopt new robotics/software tools and guide core investments.
• Stay informed on industry developments and share insights with stakeholders.
