Job summary

Advanced Sterilization Products in Irvine, CA seeks a skilled specialist to lead advanced complaint return testing and ensure precise test data entry into systems. You will coordinate test queues, procure specialized equipment, and document observations related to reported defects.

The role includes guiding failure analysis investigations and mentoring technicians within the Product Analysis Laboratory (PAL).

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Quality, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum: 5 years of experience in electromechanical diagnostics within a general complaints analysis, laboratory, and/or field support role.
• Preferred: 7 years of experience in engineering forensics in a dedicated investigation role.

Responsibilities

• Performs a range of advanced product testing and failure analysis activities to ensure compliance with established specifications.
• Coordinates and executes specialized complaint failure investigations, applying developed proficiency in technical system and subsystem knowledge.
• Troubleshoots defective products to identify causes, using diagnostic tools and historical data to support findings.
• Reads and analyzes engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications; perform calculations related to stack-up tolerances and circuit analyses.
• Effectively organizes and trends data to guide decision making in a failure analysis context.
• Proposes corrective actions based on technical knowledge.
• Authors protocols and technical reports.
• Recommends and drives improvements to inspection, testing, and evaluation capabilities.
• Maintains laboratory orderliness and ensures equipment is calibrated and serviced per CMMS schedule.
• Reviews peer investigations for completeness and accuracy, providing constructive feedback.
• Communicates findings and analysis results to engineering and quality teams across the organization.
• Initiates cross-functional discussions to support resolution of recurring product issues.
• Participates in projects aimed at improving product analysis processes and reducing complaint frequency and severity.
• Provides informal guidance and training to technicians, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.
