Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a Production Technician Contractor to join our fast-paced manufacturing team building and testing superconducting magnets. You will perform electro-mechanical assembly, operate precision equipment, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and other departments to meet production goals.

The role requires 6+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience, high attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
• Experience with hand tools and precision assembly.
• Willing to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call occasionally.
• Commitment to safety in high-hazard environments.

Responsibilities

• Build electromechanical parts and assemblies.
• Work with cross-disciplinary team to develop manufacturing techniques.
• Perform production builds per procedures and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot and reduce manufacturing discrepancies.
• Use torque wrenches, allen keys, micrometers, calipers.
• Read assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Communicate challenges clearly to peers and leadership.
• Operate production and high-powered magnet equipment.
• Assist with related duties as assigned.
• Identify process improvements and implement them.
• Maintain attention to detail and quality.
