Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a Senior Electromagnetic Systems Engineer to design and validate advanced electromagnetic actuation systems for precision motion control. You will bridge theory, simulation, hardware design, and testing to deliver high force density and multi-axis motion with low ripple.

The role requires a Master’s/PhD in a related field and 5+ years of electromagnetics experience, with hands-on use of FEA tools and experimental validation.

Qualifications

Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in electromagnetic system design, motion systems, or related tech.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize electromagnetic actuators, magnetic circuits, coils and PM assemblies.
Develop magnetic architectures including Halbach arrays and linear/direct-drive actuators.
Analyze force generation, levitation, propulsion efficiency and stiffness.
Model and validate using FEA and multiphysics tools; compare with experiments.
Collaborate with controls, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
Drive design verification through experimental fixtures and data analysis.
