Job summary

Saft America, Inc. seeks an Electrochemical Engineer to support and develop battery systems and electrochemical products. You will collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and sales to ensure performance and cost targets are met.

The role includes design of cells, materials evaluation, and documentation control, with cross-functional teamwork across mobility and industrial segments. The position emphasizes problem solving, data-driven testing, and supporting production through robust

Qualifications

• BS in electrochemistry, chemistry, or chemical engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with batteries and battery systems.
• 5+ years in product or process design with analytical testing.
• Experience in concurrent engineering and supplier partnerships.
• Knowledge of FMECA, ISO 9001 basics, and chemical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrochemical product support and development for batteries & systems.
• Support manufacturing, purchasing, and quality to resolve issues.
• Interface with sales/marketing and customers to meet requirements.
• Review engineering changes and maintain documentation & configuration control.
• Design cells and evaluate new materials for mobility and industrial use.
• Prepare reports and TRs/ECRs/ESIs as needed in QAD system.
