Job summary

Nokia seeks a Sr. Electro-Optical Test Development Engineer to push the boundaries of optical technology and influence design and testing of coherent pluggable products.

You will develop software, hardware, and test plans for calibrating Nokia coherent optics, identify performance characteristics, configure test instrumentation, and collaborate with firmware and DSP teams to enhance product capabilities.

Qualifications

  • MS in science or engineering; PhD preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing test and measurement solutions for optical components.
  • Proficiency in writing scalable software with experience in object-oriented languages.
  • Familiarity with quadrature amplitude modulation theory.
  • Hands-on experience with optical and electrical test and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software, hardware, and test plans for calibrating Nokia coherent pluggable products.
  • Identify performance-impacting characteristics of optical transceivers through optical communication understanding.
  • Define and configure necessary test instrumentation and hardware for effective testing.
  • Collaborate with product teams to create and refine efficient optical calibration sequences.
  • Co-develop features with firmware and DSP teams to enhance product capabilities.
  • Automate test execution through robust software development.
  • Define and implement detailed testing requirements in partnership with engineering staff
