Job summary

Nokia is seeking an experienced engineer to join the development team for its next generation digital coherent optical transceiver modules. The role focuses on designing control algorithms for highly-integrated optoelectronic devices and validating tests for digital coherent optical modules in cutting-edge optical networking systems.

The position is an individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in photonic device design, control systems, and software tools.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical or Optical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience.
• Experience with fundamental and advanced photonic device design and characterization techniques.
• Experience with control systems design desirable.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and simulate advanced optical/optoelectronic designs and control systems to ensure high reliability and manufacturability.
• Design, implement and validate controls for digital coherent optical modules.
• Evaluate entire optical system including PIC, optics, control electronics to meet product requirements.
