Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Electro-Optical Engineer to join the Visible & Infrared Sensor Systems Department. The role focuses on designing, prototyping, testing EO sensor payloads, and performing performance analysis for space surveillance programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in physics, electrical engineering, optics, astronomy, or related field.
• Eight or more years of industry experience or time spent pursuing an advanced degree.
• Strong hardware, laboratory, data analysis, analytical and software skills.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, IDL or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support development and testing of visible and infrared sensor systems for space surveillance and related programs.
• Lead FPA characterization and prototype sensor hardware design and AI&T.
• Coordinate with program offices, report progress, and resolve technical issues.
