Job summary

nLIGHT-DEFENSE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior EO Engineer in Longmont, CO to lead the design, integration, and testing of High Energy Laser and electro-optical systems.

You will drive architecture, interfaces, and verification strategies while coordinating across optics, mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software teams. The role requires 10+ years of electro-optical experience, a Master's degree (PhD preferred), and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• EO/optical engineering background with leadership experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary development and integration.
• Ability to design, test, and integrate HEL/EO systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and test of HEL/EO systems.
• Serve as system or subsystem technical lead, driving architecture and interfaces.
• Define test strategies, data processing, and formal documentation.
• Coordinate cross-discipline activities across optics, mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software.
• Provide on-site and remote technical leadership during field tests and analyses.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans with program management.
