Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, California is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead design and integration of Terran R mechanisms from concept through flight-readiness. You will work across structures, avionics, and fluids, leveraging additive processes to build better products and meet aggressive schedules.

You will drive design cycles from concept, through trade studies, to testing and manufacturing, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
5+ years in full cycle design engineering (CAD, analysis, build, test).
Fundamental knowledge of kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic actuation, mechatronics.
Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability and fatigue failure modes.
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and surface treatments.
Proven problem-solving and hands-on hardware build experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design and integration of Terran R mechanisms from concept to flight-readiness.
Collaborate with structures, avionics and fluids teams and leverage additive processes.
Guide design of mechanisms such as stage separation, deployment, landing gear and aero surfaces.
Perform trade studies and participate in reviews with leadership.
Deliver on time and within budget while enabling manufacturability.
