Job summary

Earthjustice seeks a Senior Research and Policy Analyst to drive electrification advocacy and policy analysis across transportation, buildings and industry. You will develop technical analyses, write policy documents, and engage decision-makers while coordinating with Gulf Regional Office teams in Texas.

Based in Texas, you will collaborate with attorneys, scientists and partners, travel as needed, and help advance equity in clean energy policy. Remote Austin or Houston hybrid options available.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience analyzing scientific and technical documents for policy and public audiences.
• Excellent research, writing, oral communication and computer skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for organizational meetings, advocacy opportunities, and conferences.
• Willingness to register as Texas lobbyist if required.
• Experience working on land use, electric sector, climate, energy or environmental justice issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches and creates technical analyses and documents in support of litigation and policy work.
• Collaborates with lawyers and outside experts to design and manage expert reports and analyses.
• Develops, implements and manages community outreach and coalitions in support of assigned issues.
• Serves as a senior technical and policy expert, frequently preparing comments and delivering testimony as required.
• Etc: participates in special projects and may supervise interns.
