Rhode Island School of Design seeks an Electrician to perform a full range of electrical maintenance, renovations, and new construction with minimal supervision. You will lead the Electricians, assign work orders, oversee quality, and ensure safety compliance across campus.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or trade school, 10 years in electrical maintenance with 5+ years in leadership, and RI licenses. The role is full-time, in-person, with union status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school, or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years’ electrical maintenance experience with 5+ years leading others
• Knowledge of high/low voltage distribution systems
• Read schematics and motor control diagrams
• OSHA safety knowledge and practices
• Ability to service diverse equipment and work in high-volume environment
• Willingness to learn new technologies and stay compliant with industry standards

Responsibilities

• Lead Electricians and oversee complex electrical work
• Maintain annual electrical permits and state licenses
• Troubleshoot fire alarm systems and related wiring
• Assign and monitor work orders, ensuring quality and safety
• Coordinate outside contractors and inspect their work
• Manage tools and inventory and ensure stock availability
• Read schematics and interpret diagrams for projects
• Ensure OSHA rules and safety practices are followed
