Job summary

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) in Seattle seeks a Senior Electrician to lead a crew of up to eight electricians, oversee electrical work on parks facilities, pools, and related structures, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and SPR standards.

The role requires completion of a four-year apprenticeship and journey level license, with responsibilities spanning project coordination, budgeting, diagnostics, and training of an Electrical Apprentice.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accepted four-year apprenticeship training program and two years' experience as a journey level electrician.
• Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule & assign daily work orders; determine priorities based on available crew members.
• Review blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installations.
• Diagnose & repair malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems such as boilers, pumps, generators, air compressors, frequency drives, fire alarms, and lighting.
• Coordinate work activities with skilled trades and other Parks staff to complete projects efficiently.
• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for electrical projects including labor, materials, supplies.
