MAHLE in Michigan seeks a Senior Electrician & Maintenance to install and repair electrical systems in industrial equipment, troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley, MEDC), and take corrective actions on nonconformities. You will input labor data and read blueprints to guide wiring layouts.

Responsibilities include wiring installation, diagnostics of transformers and motors, and maintaining safety in a loud plant environment. Requires journeyman or master license and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
  • Five years of electrical experience and on‑the‑job training.
  • Forklift training and licensing required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules and manuals.

  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
  • Troubleshoots and programs PLC systems, Allen Bradley and MEDC controllers.

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests, discusses, and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery. Must be able to utilize computer systems to solve malfunctions.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoots and performs some programming for Programmable Controller Machines, Allen Bradley Controllers and MEDC Controllers.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in all areas of the plant.
Senior Electrician & Maintenance
Education And/or Experience
  • Must have a Journeyman card or Master Electrician License and/or five years of experience. On the job training is also required. Forklift training and licensing is required for this position. Forklift training and licensing is required for this position.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read blueprints and diagrams and on the job training are required.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills And Abilities

  • The employee must be able to use ladders and lifts on a regular basis which have a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds.
  • Safety glasses with permanent side shields are required while in the plant environment. When appropriate, hearing protection, gloves, aprons, face shields, respirators, dust masks, and protective footwear will be worn.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
