Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support power plant projects onsite. You will develop single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, and wiring schematics, collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Requires 10+ years of wiring design, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and familiarity with digital control systems. This role entails field data collection, vendor drawing review, and potential nuclear station access.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in drafting/technical design.
• 10+ years of wiring design experience for single-line, relay and metering diagrams.
• Familiarity with digital control systems.
• Ability to produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.
• Extensive AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design experience on large projects.
• Thorough drafting and design understanding and ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Job description

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

This position is an onsite schedule working four days per week, 10 hour shifts. We offer per diem to those who qualify.

Responsibilities

• Synchronizing diagrams
• Cable schedules
• Work in a project team environment in the design, modification, and/or upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems
• Under the direction of the Electrical Project Lead, work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in the development of the following:
• Single-line diagrams
• Relay and metering diagrams
• AC and DC schematic diagrams
• Synchronizing diagrams
• Point to point wiring diagrams
• Cable schedules
• Produce electrical wiring drawings and review and incorporate vendor drawings into the overall project design
• Assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities
• Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in drafting or high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience
• 10+ years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single‑line, relay, and metering diagrams, including medium‑voltage and 480 V systems
• Familiarity with digital control systems
• Ability to produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians
• Assist engineers with initial design requirements
• Conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements
• Extensive AutoCAD and/or Microstation design experience on power plants or large facility projects
• Thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories
• Ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines involved in the power plant design process

Compensation Range

$77,890 – $118,999
