Job summary

Gregory Electric Company, Inc. seeks a Utility Safety Superintendent to lead field safety oversight for electrical utility construction.

You will coach crews, conduct inspections, and deliver training while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and client requirements on active projects. Must have five years of progressive utility safety leadership experience, OSHA 30-hour training, and ability to obtain drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in electrical utility construction, utility safety, or utility field supervision.
• Knowledge of overhead and underground electrical utility construction activities on assigned projects.
• Ability to recognize hazards in electrical work, excavation, work-zone, fall, rigging, lifting, and mobile equipment.
• Experience leading crews, coaching supervisors, inspections, and enforcing safety requirements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and government background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide field safety oversight and conduct inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Coach employees, supervisors, and subcontractors; correct unsafe conditions and behavior.
• Exercise stop-work authority when imminent danger is identified.
• Participate in pre-job planning, safety meetings, and reviews of energized work.
• Assist with investigations; identify factors and develop corrective actions.
• Deliver classroom and field training on electrical, work-zone, excavation, fall-protection, PPE, and equipment.
• Verify compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and client requirements.
• Evaluate subcontractor safety performance and communicate deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate records and track corrective actions through closure.
