Job summary

Unofficial M.C. Dean seeks an experienced technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and start-up of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment in the field and shop.

Travel locally, regionally, and nationally is required, with international travel preferred; must meet safety and regulatory requirements and collaborate across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience with electronics installation/maintenance on multiple systems.
• Ability to read architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil drawings to identify potential problems.
• Knowledge of industry standards including NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E and OSHA safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power distribution systems and equipment (transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays).
• Conduct insulation resistance testing, power factor testing, contact resistance testing and other tests per NETA standards.
• Analyze test results to assess equipment condition and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house using company software; maintain complete job documentation from order receipt to invoice.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays and related electrical apparatus.
• Support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
