Thea Energy in Kearny, NJ is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to support the Electrical Distribution team in building, wiring, testing electrical systems for the Eos Stellarator. You will contribute to high‑current power supplies, power electronics, and control cabinets while working closely with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Technology or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on electrical technician experience in industrial or R&D environments.
• Experience building and wiring distribution panels, power supplies, and control cabinets.
• Ability to read engineering drawings including schematics and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with measurement tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire power supplies, energy storage systems, and high-current converters.
• Install MV/LV switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and BESS systems.
• Support facility wiring for cryogenics, vacuum, cooling, and HVAC.
• Set up testbeds, perform hardware bring-up, signal probing, and optimization.
• Board-level debugging, PCB rework, and documentation of schematics and cable schedules.
