Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED; DoD Secret clearance ability and U.S. citizenship.
• Technical school or college coursework in electricity, electronics, avionics or engineering tech.
• Ten years of related experience; at least six years in electrical installations and repairs.
• Navy aviation electrician training or equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and components.
• Diagnose malfunctions with test equipment and fix problems.
• Inspect systems for hazards, defects, and needed repairs.
• Install new equipment or modify existing gear per codes.
• Test circuits with ohmmeters, voltmeters and scopes for safety.
• Plan layout and installation based on specs and local codes.
• Direct and train junior electricians on installation and maintenance.
• Prepare cost and manpower estimates for installations.
