Job summary

TalentRemedy is seeking a Principal Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Herndon, VA team, leading advanced electro-optical and laser-based systems for NASA, DoD, and commercial space missions.

The role requires steering electrical architectures from concept to deployment, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with optical, mechanical, software, and systems teams to deliver reliable spaceflight electronics and system integration across programs.

Qualifications

• BSEE is required; MSEE preferred.
• 15+ years of experience developing complex aerospace or spaceflight electrical systems.
• Experience as technical lead, principal engineer, or system architect for electrical systems.
• Direct experience with spaceflight electronics design, integration, testing, or qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture, design, and execution of electro-optical, laser, and sensing systems for spaceflight and defense.
• Define system-level electrical requirements, interfaces, budgets, and verification strategies.
• Provide technical leadership for high-reliability electronics including power, control, data acquisition, signal conditioning, and interconnects.
• Lead electrical subsystem integration and ensure interface compatibility across disciplines.
• Lead system integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and qualification activities.
• Support customer interactions, proposals, design reviews, and program execution.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Participate in laboratory and environmental testing as required.
