Job summary

Weyerhaeuser in Natchitoches, LA seeks a Senior Electrical Supervisor to lead electricians, PLC technicians, and mechanics in daily maintenance, safety, and reliability for all equipment and facilities.

The role is full-time, exempt, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Strong PLC, electrical, and supervisory skills are essential along with experience in preventive/predictive maintenance and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years Electrical maintenance supervision experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, loop, drives system schematics.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance methods and data analysis.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Proven ability to manage safety, quality, production and people development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical maintenance activities in assigned areas with safety as the highest priority.
  • Lead preventive & predictive maintenance and drive process reliability.
  • Analyze data to ensure proper down day tasks and continuous improvement.
  • Perform administrative and reporting duties supporting maintenance operations.
  • Develop and train associates including coaching and performance management.
  • Participate in capital projects and problem-solving activities as assigned.
  • Ensure purchasing policies and procedures are followed and CMMS systems are utilized.
  • Facilitate team meetings and training; identify and address safety/quality issues.
  • Plan day-to-day maintenance activities and staff effectively; recruit and retain talent.
  • Support training, development and innovation to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser is seeking a Senior Electrical Supervisor for the Natchitoches Engineered Wood Products manufacturing facility located in Natchitoches, LA. The Sr. Electrical Supervisor is a full-time, salaried exempt role and reports to the Maintenance Manager. This role plans, leads, and directs the daily activities of a team of electricians, PLC Technicians, and mechanics in the areas of safety, quality, and electrical maintenance for all equipment, buildings, and rolling stock.Key Functions:Executing electrical maintenance activities in assigned areas, with the safety of associates and contractors being the highest priority.Leading preventive & predictive electrical maintenance/process reliability in assigned shift and area.Analyzing data to ensure proper down day tasks.Administrative and reporting activities.Supporting the improvement of key performance indicators, continuous improvement of maintenance functions, and for department budget cost effectiveness.Developing and training associates including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.Participating in and/or leading initiatives for capital projects and problem-solving activities as assigned.Assuring purchasing functions follow established policies and procedures.Utilizing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtimeSupporting, maintaining, and improving processes associated with the computerized maintenance management system for process reliability.Facilitating team meetings & trainings with assigned team.Identifying safety, environmental, quality, and production issues.Providing leadership for the ongoing development of the maintenance team.Supporting training and development plans to improve skills, knowledge, and team performance.Encouraging innovation.Leading the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.Staffing, recruiting and retaining talent.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Minimum of three (3) years Electrical maintenance supervision experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong business leadership skills with the ability to understand and support the site's vision, strategy, goals and targets.Knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming.Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methods.Proven skills in hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting.Ability to read and understand electrical, loop, drives system schematics.Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.Ability to perform a root cause analysis and effectively initiate corrective/preventative actions.Excellent team building, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in and lead diverse teams.Track record of consistently demonstrating collaborative and inclusive leadership skills as well as positive influence, with accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, quality, productivity and people development.Ability to provide innovative solutions to continuously improve maintenance processes and eliminate unscheduled downtime.Ability to plan, lead and executive day-to-day maintenance activities.Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as conditions require.Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows-based programs and internet skills.Ability to learn and use software associated with maintenance tracking systems.Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights when conditions warrant.A current resume or detailed list of work history and education is required for consideration.The following qualifications are preferred:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering highly preferred.Knowledgeable of Engineered Wood Products manufacturing.Experience with LEAN processes.Experience with SAP, Maximo or other computerized maintenance tracking software.About WeyerhaeuserWe sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay.
