Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to lead a 20-person union electrician team at the Longview Lumber facility in Southwest Washington. You will drive safety, reliability, and standardized maintenance practices across shifts, collaborating with Operations, Reliability, Planning, and Engineering to optimize equipment performance.

The role emphasizes training, workforce development, and effective scheduling, with regular visibility across shifts and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead-person experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, drives, motor controls, instrumentation, power distribution, and automation systems.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, consistency, and respect in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to employee development, safety excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Preferred: experience leading an hourly workforce in a union environment; five+ years of leadership; experience with UKG.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for a team of union electricians and apprentices.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring safe work practices, hazard identification, risk assessment, and site standards.
  • Support mill reliability by driving maintenance execution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect elimination.
  • Partner with Operations, Reliability, Planning, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance and availability.
  • Establish and reinforce standards for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, work quality, and communication between crews and shifts.
  • Lead training and workforce development to build technical capability and succession within the electrical organization.
  • Support planning and scheduling processes to align maintenance resources with business priorities.
  • Utilize SAP CMMS, maintenance metrics, and reliability tools to prioritize work and improve effectiveness.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while fostering positive labor-management relationships.
