Job summary

Prism Electric is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site electrical construction across Texas and Oklahoma. You will supervise field operations, manage schedules, and coordinate with trades to deliver projects on time and with high quality.

Travel to project sites is expected as needed. The role requires a valid Texas or Oklahoma license, strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in MS Excel/Word, and familiarity with Accubid.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman's or Master's License in Texas or Oklahoma.
• Experience with estimating processes.
• Must be safety oriented.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word.
• Exposure to Accubid is a plus.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operations on construction sites.
• Monitor the short-term schedule.
• Review and support hiring needs.
• Quality control and coordination with other trades.
• Train, manage and evaluate project team members.
• Help Project Manager prepare construction schedules.
• Create daily schedules for manpower utilization.
• Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reports.
• Coordinate production and meetings with trades and general contractor.
• Plan, organize and direct production per scope of work.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs.
• Coordinate with Purchasing for timely material delivery.
• Ensure installations meet NEC, codes and drawings.
• Flag priority problems to Project Manager.
• Empower and grow field employees; provide counseling as needed.
• Record counseling and paperwork prior to layoffs or terminations.
• Ensure installations are correct per codes and drawings.
• Conduct 90-day and annual reviews and end-of-project reviews.
• Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations on the construction sites

• Quality control & coordination responsibilities with other trades

• Ability to assist Project Manager prepare construction schedules


• Make daily schedules for proper manpower utilization


• Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reports


• Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts


• Plan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work


• Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs


• Coordinate work with Purchasing to insure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of project


• Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards


• Recognize and communicate to Project Manager any priority project problems, such as employee, job costing issues or any need for concern


• Responsible for empowering, training and helping with the growth and development of all field employees


• Responsible for the counseling of employees, including the writing/filing and follow-up or corrective measures to be taken for each offense


• Responsible for ensuring that the proper paperwork and counseling has been recorded prior to any employee being notified of a lay off or termination.


• Responsible for ensuring that all installations are correct per NEC, city codes and engineering drawings and specifications.


• Conduct 90 day and annual reviews as well as end-of-project reviews for specific job performance


• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman's or Master's License in the state of Texas or Oklahoma required


• Prior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating process


• Must be safety oriented


• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word is required


• Exposure to Accubid a plus


• Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills


• Strong customer service skills required


• Ability to be mobile to various locations and available to travel to project areas as project needs are required

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
