Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background for data center power distribution product design.

You will lead design and development from concept to implementation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to meet stringent quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include defining equipment specifications, evaluating design changes, and ensuring compliance with global codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of Electrical Product Design for Power Distribution Equipment or UPS; OR 8+ years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design, Construction, or Operations.

Responsibilities

• Supports Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.
• Lead new product design, development and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought out products.
• Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements while delivering a return on investment.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.
• Prepare, Review and approval of product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly and electrical wiring drawings.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases.
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.
• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
