Job summary

Slifco Electric LLC in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a Senior Electrical Purchasing Agent to lead procurement on electrical construction projects across automotive and industrial sectors. The role oversees material purchasing, vendor relations, cost control, and delivery coordination to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and field leadership to mitigate supply chain risks and forecast material needs.

Qualifications

10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in electrical or construction.
Strong knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement practices.
Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or automotive construction projects preferred.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficient with Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

Lead purchasing for electrical construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, and material requests to ensure correct purchases.
Generate and track purchase orders aligned to budgets and schedules.
Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes for price and quality.
Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms with suppliers.
Coordinate with PMs, estimators, and field leadership on material needs.
Monitor deliveries and resolve delays or discrepancies.
Track procurement costs and identify savings opportunities.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and records.
Support forecasting of material needs across active projects.
Help develop purchasing processes and standards.
