Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team in solving complex power infrastructure challenges. The role focuses on design, development and operation of power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, controls, grounding and lightning protection systems in a hybrid work model based in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA.

Qualifications include a BSEE, 8+ years in facility electrical/power systems, EIT; PE preferred; and current TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
8+ years design/operation experience in facility electrical/power systems.
EIT certification; PE license preferred; TS/SCI clearance required.
Proficiency with power distribution modeling tools and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise to improve design, safety, reliability and cost efficiency.
Develop analytical methods to evaluate facility systems and optimize performance.
Apply rigorous problem solving and root-cause analysis.
Deliver data-driven recommendations to management and customers in writing and speaking.
Develop design criteria, packages, tests and interface control documents; support commissioning.
Travel to customer/government facilities as needed and represent the company professionally.
