Job summary

Socket.dev in Moncks Corner, SC is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain and troubleshoot process instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, and electrical systems across the plant. You will support MOC projects, manage parts, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires 7+ years in industry, strong troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with NFPA 70E safety. Day shift with occasional overtime supports reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 7+ years of electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Troubleshooting/process instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow and level devices.
• PLC-based control systems and DCS experience.
• MCCs, VFDs, and electrical systems up to 480V.
• Calibrate, configure, and commission field instrumentation.
• Experience interpreting historian data and process trends.
• NFPA 70E electrical safety knowledge.
• Participate in RCFA investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Experience supporting MOC processes and SAP workflows.

Responsibilities

• Attend routine meetings.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instruments, DCS, PLCs, monitoring and electrical systems.
• Support MOC work with ordering parts and scheduling for projects.
• Work with MRO to maintain inventories and spare equipment.
• Create PPM/Corrective Action Work Orders as needed.
• Update equipment files, logs, and drawings.
• Coordinate with off-site contractors as needed.
• Process service entries and goods receipts for invoices.
• Assist shifts on repair work orders.
• Address emerging technical issues; contribute to electrical safety.
• Enter equipment histories and close out work orders.
