Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc. is seeking an I/E Designer in Meraux, LA to develop detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings in collaboration with plant engineers.

You will prepare SLDs, motor schematics, grounding plans, lighting layouts, instrument loops, P&IDs, and fabrication details, while guiding drafters and ensuring quality and timely deliverables. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in industrial electrical/instrumentation drafting, strong NEC knowledge, CAD expertise (AutoCAD/SPI),

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
• 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and CAD drafting standards.
• Familiarity with NEC and load calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power applications.
• Knowledge of P&IDs and instrument/controller documentation.
• Strong communication and coordination with team members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within the discipline.
• Provide technical input for projects and ensure timely, cost-effective deliverables.
• Prepare detailed design drawings per project requirements.
• Guide drafters and coordinate with Lead Designer.
• Review drawings for completeness and quality.
• Ensure drawings are checked and backchecked.
• Prepare final drawing plots and transmittals.
• Monitor schedule and budget; assist with project audits.
