Job summary

IREN is seeking a Principal Engineer, Electrical Innovation to lead power engineering standards and practical designs for Next-Gen Data Center programs. You will collaborate with NGDC and IMDC teams, translating innovative concepts into deliverable designs for procurement and construction.

Responsible for cross-discipline alignment with mechanical, structural, and controls teams, advising on power distribution, switchgear, and UPS integration, while traveling as needed to project sites

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with deep specialization in power systems.
• Experience developing power engineering design deliverables for construction and procurement.
• Experience across innovation and project execution environments with ability to apply concepts practically.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on medium- and low-voltage power distribution, protection coordination, and generator/UPS integration.
• Translate standards into executable designs for NGDC/IMDC programs and ensure design reviews pass.
• Coordinate power engineering decisions with mechanical, structural, and controls teams; resolve cross-discipline issues.
