Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Hardware Engineer for the Starmind AI satellites program. You will own the hardware life-cycle from concept through production, designing high-reliability electronics for space.

The role requires multi-disciplinary collaboration across mechanical, thermal, software, test, and supply chain teams to deliver on-orbit compute and power systems for AI inference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics.
• 5+ years of industry experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Experience with aerospace or space-related hardware is preferred.
• Strong Python and C/C++ programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
• Lead hardware life-cycle from concept to production, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Work with mechanical, thermal, software, and test teams to deliver integrated hardware.
• Provide hands-on support through production, integration, and flight.
• Ensure on-orbit performance and documentation.
