Job summary

ABM Industries in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Senior Testing Technician to independently perform acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning tests on electrical power equipment. You will analyze data, mentor junior staff, and lead field activities while ensuring safety and compliance.

Requirements include 5–8 years of electrical testing experience, strong understanding of power systems, and the ability to read diagrams and construction docs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–8 years of electrical testing, commissioning, or related field work.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power systems and protective relaying.
• Ability to read one-line and schematic diagrams and construction docs.
• Experience interpreting test results and preparing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning testing of electrical power equipment and systems.
• Test, inspect, and document switchgear, relays, transformers, MCCs, breakers, cables, and grounding systems.
• Analyze test data to determine equipment condition and recommended actions.
• Lead field activities and coordinate with customers, PMs, and subs.
• Prepare field reports, test documentation, and deficiency reports.
• Ensure OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company procedures compliance.
