Job summary

Symbotic LLC in the United States is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead field electrical activities within the Layout Engineering team, ensuring installations meet design intent and regulatory standards. You will develop standards, review arc flash studies and short-circuit analyses, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and installation to implement changes.

Up to 80% travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in electrical installation, commissioning, and quality standards.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements.
• Experience supervising contractors and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical installation standards, quality docs, inspection criteria, and workmanship requirements for cable installation, terminations, grounding, labeling, panel construction, and energization.
• Serve as SME for electrical installation standards, NEC compliance, grounding/bonding, and power distribution systems.
• Review arc flash studies, short-circuit analyses, labeling requirements, and safety documentation for NFPA 70E compliance and project specs.
• Perform field engineering assessments to identify and resolve design conflicts, constructability concerns, installation risks, and other field issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and installation teams to implement changes, resolve RFIs, and maintain as-built docs.
• Develop, validate, and improve electrical installation methods, standard work, SOPs, and field solutions, including new product introductions.
• Support kickoff meetings and train internal and external stakeholders to promote consistent execution of program standards at sites.
