Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced technician to modify and repair engineering CCAs, assemblies, and harnesses in an onsite role near Tucson, AZ. The position requires soldering expertise, cable/harness fabrication skills, and the ability to inspect components under magnification.

Qualifications include an AA/AS degree with 8+ years of related experience, IPC certifications, and the capacity to work independently or within a team in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience with Solder, mechanical, quality standards, processes, and/or documentation.
• Verification and inspection experience with associated standards, processes, and/or documentation.
• Experience with cable and harness assembly, fabrication, and/or rework.

Responsibilities

• Modify, rework, and populate Engineering CCAs, assemblies, and subassemblies to ensure proper operation.
• Perform repairs to returned/damaged units to an operational state.
• Micro-soldering under a microscope for an extended period.
• Build cables and harnesses from schematics.
• Quality verification and inspection under a microscope.
• Identify, repair, and replace wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Replace mechanical and electrical components.
• Operate multi-meters or basic ohmmeters for point-to-point checks.
• Identify failures, isolate problems, and suggest corrective actions.
• Keep management informed of potential risks affecting schedule or quality.
• Provide support to the Engineering development team.
