Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Senior Electrical Evaluator & Trainer to assess apprentice competency and deliver electrical training across multiple solar project sites. The role blends field evaluations, classroom instruction, and on-the-spot coaching to build a skilled, safety‑driven electrical workforce.

Travel to job sites is regular to support apprenticeship programs and ensure program alignment with NEC, OSHA, and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 5-8 years of experience in training, coaching, or mentoring apprentices
• NFPA 70E Certificate (required)
• OSHA 10/30 certification (required or ability to obtain)
• NCCER Instructor Certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Journeyman Electrician license (preferred)
• Experience with solar PV systems strongly (preferred)
• Familiarity with registered apprenticeship programs (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate Apprentice Competency: Independently assess electrical apprentices’ skills (installation, wiring, troubleshooting, safety, NEC compliance) and determine qualification & progression.
• Lead & Deliver Electrical Training: Conduct classroom and hands-on training aligned with curriculum; identify gaps and update materials accordingly.
• Provide Field Coaching & Feedback: Observe apprentices on job sites and give real-time coaching; train on solar electrical systems.
• Maintain Training & Evaluation Records: Document assessments, progress, and completion per program requirements.
• Ensure Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA/NEC standards and correct unsafe behaviors.
• Coordinate with Field Leadership: Align training with job site needs and serve as the main point of contact for evaluation & training.
