Job summary

Enterprise Electrical is seeking a Chief Estimator for the Houston Division to lead all estimating activities, mentor the estimating team, and ensure accurate, competitive bids that support revenue growth. You will maintain the Accubid database, establish best practices, and collaborate with senior leadership on growth strategies.

The role requires extensive electrical estimating experience, leadership skills, and a strong grasp of preconstruction processes to drive profitable project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
• Extensive experience in electrical estimating and preconstruction leadership
• 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience
• Proven experience leading and developing estimating teams
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction practices
• Advanced knowledge of estimating software, including Accubid
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making capabilities

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston division
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimators
• Develop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexity
• Review RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitiveness
• Manage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectives
• Review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawings
• Communicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationships
• Prepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of work
• Conduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiatives
• Develop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffs
• Maintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standards
• Establish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practices
• Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as needed
• Analyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy
• Provide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making
• Attend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationships
• Maintain confidentiality of all departmental and company information
• Assist with additional duties as required to support business objectives
