Job summary

JMJ Phillip is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator in Jacksonville, FL to prepare accurate project estimates for multifamily construction, analyze electrical plans and specs, and develop competitive bids. You’ll collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the estimating process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Several years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with multifamily construction projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for multifamily electrical projects.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Identify project requirements, exclusions, assumptions, and potential risks.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Develop detailed bid documentation and cost breakdowns.
• Assist with value engineering and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other internal teams.
• Communicate estimating assumptions, pricing changes, and project risks.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings and provide estimating support throughout the bidding process.
