Job summary

The JPI Group in Westmont, IL is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Westmont team. You will build commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and data center electrical estimates, coordinating with management, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, developing detailed cost estimates, and preparing competitive bid proposals while mentoring junior estimators and working with project managers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial and industrial new construction.
• Strong background estimating power distribution, lighting, and commercial/industrial electrical systems.
• Experience supporting large, complex bids and collaborating across estimating and operations teams.
• Proficiency with electrical estimating software; while Accubid or comparable platforms are also considered.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, codes, safety requirements, and bid documents.
• Strong conceptual estimating, scope development, pricing, and value-engineering skills.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Use ConEst, Accubid, or comparable estimating software, along with Excel, to produce timely, high-quality proposals.
• Mentor junior estimators and help improve estimating processes, consistency, and team capability.
• Partner with project managers, field teams, clients, and suppliers; visit jobsites as needed.
