Job summary

Electra Solutions LLC in Cary, NC seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator to manage takeoff-to-bid for commercial renovation and new construction projects.

You will perform detailed takeoffs, review bid documents, solicit pricing, and prepare complete proposals for timely, competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical estimating, a related degree, and proficiency with industry software such as Accubid, McCormick, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with electrical estimating and blueprint reading.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC ( Electrical Code).
• Proficiency with Accubid, McCormick, or similar estimating software.
• Skilled in Bluebeam for takeoffs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Cost analysis and vendor negotiation expertise.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive electrical estimates for commercial projects including new construction, renovation, and rehab
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from plans, drawings, and specifications
• Review bid documents, plans, specs, and scopes of work to identify project requirements and risks
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Develop labor and material cost projections and apply appropriate labor units
• Prepare and submit complete bid proposals with qualifications, inclusions, and exclusions
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and job walks as needed
• Perform value engineering and identify cost-saving alternatives
• Coordinate with project managers and field leadership on scope, budgets, and post-award handoff
• Track bid results and maintain organized estimating records and historical cost data
