Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering or related field preferred.
• Equivalent education plus estimating experience considered.
• 3–5 years electrical estimating in commercial construction; 5–10 years for senior roles.
• Experience with general contractors or electrical subs preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems including fire alarm and low-voltage.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to define scope.
• Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs using estimating tools.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Identify scope gaps and value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with PMs, superintendents, engineers, architects, and owners.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Prepare bid summaries, pricing breakdowns, alternates, and proposals.
• Maintain cost databases and analyze historical data to improve accuracy.
• Assist with project handoffs to operations after award.
• Support change order pricing during construction.
• Monitor market pricing and material availability.

Quest Group is actively recruiting for a Senior Electrical Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily construction projects. Working as part of the preconstruction team, this role analyzes project plans and specifications, solicits and evaluates subcontractor and supplier pricing, prepares detailed quantity takeoffs, and develops comprehensive bid proposals. The Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in helping the company secure profitable projects while maintaining high standards of accuracy and risk management.
