Job summary

Universal Electronics Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to independently design and validate electrical hardware for connected-home products. You will own architecture through high-volume production, coordinating with software, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires hands-on circuit design, prototype bring-up, and design verification, with travel as needed. A strong background in embedded electronics and wireless tech is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of related electrical engineering experience in embedded/consumer-electronics.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems with limited direction.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design, schematic capture, design optimization, and reliability analysis.
• Hands-on with MCUs/MPUs, memory, interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB), power, sensors, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Experience with ECAD and lab equipment for design verification and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex electrical hardware development for wireless control, smart-home, and related products.
• Translate requirements into architectures, schematics, BOMs, and interfaces.
• Design and review digital, analog, mixed-signal, power, and wireless circuitry.
• Plan prototype bring-up, debugging, and design verification with test plans.
• Support regulatory certification activities and manufacturability considerations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across locations and with customers.
