Job summary

SunEnergy1 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support preliminary design, design review, and quality assurance of utility-scale solar, substations, and transmission infrastructure in Bethel, CT. You will work with internal teams and external engineers to ensure safety, reliability, and code compliance across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate will have ABET-accredited EE degrees and 5–7 years (or 3–5 years with a master's), and a PE or eligibility within one year.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with 5–7 years' experience, or master's with 3–5 years.
Experience performing design reviews of drawings, studies, and equipment specs.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Experience managing outside engineering firms and QA of electrical installations.
PE license or ability to obtain within one year; willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

Perform design review of electrical drawings, studies, and equipment specs.
Coordinate outside engineering firms to meet timelines and standards.
Conduct quality assurance on substations, transmission lines, and collection systems.
Develop and review equipment specifications for procurement and construction.
Travel to job sites up to 20% for design verification and field coordination.
Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction for on-time delivery.
Ensure compliance with utility, NERC, and industry electrical standards.
